It Was Mine First is collection derived from the heart of two histories, of Ireland’s and of women’s all over the world. As an Irish Women myself, I see the two stories as metaphors for another. Resilience is their shared anthem. Ireland, adorned with a tapestry of struggles, has weathered the storms of famine, colonization, and religious abuse, emerging with a spirit unyielding. Likewise, women, amidst the shadows of discrimination, violence, and maritial shackles, have woven a tale of unrelenting strength, persisting against all odds . Despite having their identities taken away, they both fought back in pursuit of taking back what was rightfully theirs first.

The collection is a dichotomy of experimental and historical styles. Its rustic influences are conveyed through fabric selection, colour palette and Galway shawl references. It remains feminine through bridal inspired details however keeps an edge with military undertones.

It is meant to be a one of a kind collection that empowers its wearer, just as Irish and female strength has empowered me.
